The Vehicle Type feature can be used for special requirements of your deliveries. You may assign the same Vehicle Type tag to both the vehicles and stops. During planning, the stops would be assigned to the tagged vehicle.

Delivery Of Temperature Sensitive Items

If you happen to be delivering temperature sensitive items, e.g. ice cream, and only vehicles equipped with a fridge can perform the delivery, you may tag both the stops and vehicles with the Fridge vehicle tag, and the stop would be assigned to the tagged vehicle accordingly.

How To Set Vehicle Type

  1. Navigate to Settings > Vehicle Type.
  2. Click Add Vehicle Type.
  3. Enter the name of your Vehicle Type, e.g. Fridge.

  4. Click Save.

How To Assign Vehicle Type To Your Vehicle

  1. Navigate to Settings > Click on Add Vehicle or the Edit icon.
  2. Select the required Vehicle Type for that vehicle, e.g. Fridge.
  3. Click Save. Note that Ice-Cream Van has a Fridge under the Types column.

How To Assign Vehicle Type To Your Stops

Manual Addition Of Stop

Whenever a stop is created, you may select the Fridge Vehicle Type.

Import Of CSV File

If you happen to have a CSV to import for creation of jobs. You may include a Vehicle Type column, and specify Fridge under it.

Delivery Of Goods Based On Size

If your goods have varying dimensions that can only fit certain vehicles, you may create several Vehicle Types for planning.

In this example, 3 vehicles (Small Van, Medium Van and Large Van) and 3 Vehicle Types (1 meter, 2 meter and 3 meter) have been created to cater for 3 different dimensions of goods.

How To Set Up

  1. Navigate to Settings > Vehicle Type.
  2. Click Add Vehicle Type.
  3. Enter the name of your Vehicle Type, e.g. 1 meter.

  4. Click Save.

    Repeat Steps 3 and 4 to create the other Vehicle Type.

How To Assign Vehicle Type To Your Vehicle

  1. Navigate to Settings > Click on Add Vehicle or the Edit icon.
  2. Select the required Vehicle Type/s for the vehicle. You may select more than 1.

    Small Van

    Medium Van

    Large Van

  3. Click Save.

    Whenever a stop is created, you may select the required Vehicle Type.

Before Planning

A list of stops with varying sizes were submitted for planning.
2 stops with small items (Book and Laptop) were assigned the Vehicle Type of 1 meter; 2 stops with medium-sized items (Chair and Table) were assigned the Vehicle Type of 2 meter; and 2 stops with large items (Piano and Refrigerator) were assigned the Vehicle Type of 3 meter.
